‘Jamieson House in Picton, PEC is the most fantastic vacation spot you could hope for. It’s a beautiful property with every amenity imaginable.
The kitchen is equipped for a gourmet chef and the pantry is stocked with everything you might need to put together your meals.
The 4 bedrooms are all extremely comfortable and the beds are divine. Fell asleep moments after hitting the pillow. Beautiful, well equipped bathrooms and a fantastic free form heated pool with a great outdoor sitting area for meals or drinks. Nothing has been overlooked at Jamieson House. You will feel comfortable from the moment you walk in the door.
Located right in downtown Picton, you can walk into town in minutes for dinner, ice-cream, pubs and shopping. We used it as home base to explore the County, and it seems like everything was within a 15 min. drive.
Can’t wait to return for a longer stay. Our weekend just flew by.
Many thanks to David, the property manager, for the house tour, and to Barbara for the yummy gift basket.’ Marc. P., June 2017
‘Everything was perfect. The house is gorgeous and neat as a pin. Very central to everything. We highly recommend it and would love to come back. ‘ Janet B., May 2017
‘Just a short note to let you know how much we enjoyed your lovely home. My friends and I have been renting VRBO homes for a few years now as we get together annually in different locations. We all agreed that your house was one of the prettiest and most comfortable of all that we have booked. From your beautifully planted and tended garden to the luxurious pool side furniture to the exquisite and imaginative decorating details of the house, we were delighted with our experience. You thought of everything. The welcome basket was a first and so well stocked with muffins, scones, jam, and teas. We especially enjoyed the bottle of local wine upon our arrival.
Thank you for all the thought you put into making your house one that guests could enjoy as their own. A definite 10 plus!’ Chris E. , Sept. 2016
‘Jamieson House delivers on all fronts! Located in a lovely neighbourhood within walking distance of the main street shops and restaurants. Refreshing, private backyard pool & patio, well-equipped kitchen, clean spacious rooms & cosy beds. Old world charm paired with modern conveniences such as air conditioning, Netflix & walk-in showers! Hosts & property manager couldn’t be more gracious and accommodating. Definitely highly recommended to friends & family alike!’ – Vee
‘Just got home from spending three magical days at Jamieson House and missing every minute of it. There was nothing this house or the Mason’s could have done better to make this vacation sweeter then it was. It was exceptional from beginning to end. Any questions prior to arrival were answered within 5 minutes – with added tips and suggestions for things to do and see, the house was fully equipped with every need or want, it was so cozy, charming, fresh and clean, picturesque, spacious and just an oasis to be in. I went with 7 girls for my sister’s bachelorette and all of us were ready to move in from the first two minutes of walking in. Drinks, dinner and lounging with music by the pool, creating delicious feasts in the kitchen, getting a little silly with the tickle trunk of costumes, sipping champagne and sitting on the side porch watching the fireflies play in the lavender…sleeping in in those ultra soft sheets, the welcome basket with local breakfast treats mmmm, the list goes on… I would recommend this to anyone and everyone, I don’t have enough wonderful things to say about it. Will definitely be back, many times :)’ Cailin J., June 2016
‘We stayed at Jamieson House for en extended weekend in June. Very specious, beautifully appointed, perfect place. Slept 8 adults very comfortably. House is immaculate but not fussy; pool and backyard were beautiful and relaxing. Short walk to shops and restaurants, within easy driving distances to cidery (our favourite destination – County Cider), wineries, Sandbanks. Property owners were a pleasure to deal with. Property manager was prompt and friendly. Best VRBO rental we’ve ever stayed in. Awesome trip – thank you Barb!’ Lisa R., June 2016
‘Our golfing group, consisting of 4 couples, stayed at Jamieson House over the labour day weekend. We have travelled annually to golfing locations in Canada and the United States for more years than we care to admit. We have rented many lovely houses/condos over the years, and the group has unanimously declared Jamieson House as our favourite! From arrival to departure Jamieson house served as our oasis in Picton, centrally located to many fine golf courses. We took advantage of all amenities! The pool was refreshing after after a day on the links. Evenings began with gin and tonics by the pool, followed by wonderful meals prepared in the lovely functional kitchen which were heartily consumed in the large dining room (beautifully set for us in advance with plates, cutlery, wine glasses and fresh flowers). The house is absolutely stunning in its treatment of retaining the charm of a century home while modernizing all amenities. No detail has been overlooked! We were more than comfortable as the flow of the house works beautifully for 8 couples. Thank you so much for sharing Jamieson House with us! Until next time!!’ – WSP, September 2015
‘My family and I absolutely loved our time at Jamieson House. It was more than we expected. The house was very well appointed, beautifully decorated and well spaced out. Everything was perfectly stocked and we didn’t have any issues. I highly recommend a stay at Jamieson House.’ – JWM, July 2015
‘I was one of six friends — three mature couples — who spent a week at Jamieson House in June 2015. We wanted to be centrally located, in a comfortable & spacious setting that allowed us to have “alone” time as well as time enjoying each other’s company. Jamieson House absolutely met our needs. We have wonderful memories of cooking dinner together, and spending long evenings sharing our various day’s adventures with each other. The owners & the property manager were pleasant to deal with, & quick to respond to any question or comment.’ – Penny W., June 2015
‘This house has it all, clean, warmth, lots of space , great beds, three washrooms, a great kitchen and lots of room to sit and read. Not to mention colourful and well decorated and a sweet gift basket full home baked goodies and cookies. We had a massage with Amber and she was perfect for relaxation. The shopping is just around the corner, the night life is fun and relaxed. Bloomfield is just a short drive if you want more shopping and Wellington has great restaurants and shopping too. We can’t wait to book again and use the pool. The garden area was well maintained and the patio area around the pool was comfortable, next time we will book in the summer so we can use the pool. I would recommend this house to all my friends.’ – April 2015
‘Had a wonderful weekend at Jamieson House in Picton. Right from when we arrived, we fell in love with the house. It was so warm and welcoming. Loved all the details of the house from the welcome basket – filled with some homemade goodies to the embroidered towels in every bathroom. The house was so spacious yet still had the warm, cozy feel to it. The house is also so close to downtown Picton – just a 5 minute walk. Had a fabulous girls weekend. Can’t wait to visit it again.’ – Tracy C., March 2015
‘When we arrived for our girls weekend, my first thought was “WOW!” This is such a beautiful home, lovingly restored and warmly decorated. Every detail was thought out, from a yummy welcome basket, to comfy beds, linens/towels, cozy rooms, and a well equipped kitchen! Jamieson House is very roomy with lots of charm, but we mostly enjoyed the kitchen, which is open to the tv room, where we enjoyed many good laughs over some wine and Netflix movies. We took a short walk to the shops and restaurants of downtown Picton, and enjoyed a few nearby wineries. I also loved my bedroom, the Waupoos Suite, comfy cozy. We couldn’t have found a more charming relaxing and top notch place for our annual weekend! We will recommend to our friends and of course, be back!’ – Leanne O., March 2015
‘Enjoyed the opportunity to get away with some family and friends to catch up and relax at the warm and welcoming Jamieson House. The drive in was pleasant and relaxing and upon arrival I was toured around the spacious welcoming home by those who had arrived before me. The inviting front room where you can sit and watch the people go by from the front window, the welcoming sofas in the sitting room with the fireplace and then on into the kitchen area with a bright sitting area with walk out to the back yard. After some lunch we headed out to a local winery (Waupoos) and then later in the afternoon took the pleasant walk from Jamieson House to the shops on the main street where I picked up some unique items. Caught up on some movie watching and then off to sleep in the very cozy comfy bed. Enjoyed a late breakfast before making the trip back home.’ – Maryka M., March 2015
‘Barb and James,
Gorgeous weather, fabulous adventures and food!!! Had no idea Picton, Bloomfield and Wellington were filled with so many shops, restaurants and night life – a treat I hadn’t expected. Not to mention Amber’s amazing massage. Aaaaah!
Thank you for the fun. Can’t wait to explore the county further.
‘We love old, gracious homes. They have a unique warmth and tons of character and Jamieson House did not disappoint. From the welcome basket full of treats to the master suite bathroom with the embroidered towels, Jamieson House made all of us feel welcomed and indulged.
It’s location was perfect as we could walk to The Claramount Inn and the Acoustic Grill when we wanted a night out..and Blumen is a short ride down the road. when the warmer weather comes, the quiet backyard looks like it would be a sanctuary in the city.
The little princess reading nook was so inviting and all the beds have comfy cozy duvets that encouraged hours of sleep.
The girls will be back.
Thanks, Barb, great house!’ Anne-Marie M., January 2015
